BOOK IT! shines a spotlight on establishing a reading routine by issuing a Spring and Fall challenge to young readers and families each school year. The challenge is open to anyone who has a preschooler - it can be done individually or by classrooms - no restrictions.

FALL CHALLENGE

Dates: October 19 - December 11, 2015

We’re delighted to announce that , written and illustrated by Jon Klassen, is the feature partner for the Fall Give Me 20 Challenge. The bear’s hat is gone, and he wants it back.  Patiently and politely, he asks the animals he comes across, one by one, whether they have seen it.  Each animal says no, some more elaborately than others.  Just as the bear begins to despond, a deer comes by and asks a simple question that sparks the bear’s memory and renews his search with a vengeance.  Join us this fall on the hunt for the red, pointy hat! 

How it works: Read to your class/children for at least 20 minutes per day, five days per week during the eight weeks of the challenge. The challenge will incorporate fun I Want My Hat Back reading activities to keep track of how much reading is completed each day! At completion of the eight-week reading period, classes and individuals will be eligible for a chance to win one of fifty prize packs including a copy of two books: I Want My Hat Back and This Is Not My Hat written and illustrated by Jon Klassen and a Pizza Hut gift card. Official Rules.

THE SWEEPSTAKES

This Sweepstakes will have twenty (20) Individual Prize Package winners and thirty (30) Classroom Prize Package winners drawn at random on Wednesday, December 30, 2015. Total value of all prizes valued at $2,700.

For each of the potential 20 Individual Prize Package Winners, the following prizes will be awarded: One (1) Jon Klassen I Want My Hat Back hardcover book; One (1) Jon Klassen This Is Not My Hat hardcover book; One (1) $10 Pizza Hut Gift Card Total value of each Individual Prize: $42 Total value of all Individual Prizes: $840
